Sneakers, trainers, shoes; many words for the same thing?
Whether you were born in the 1950s or after the 2000s, the debate remains the same. Is a sneaker a basket which itself is a shoe, sneaker shoe, basket sneaker?? 🤯
Sneakers, this famous term that comes to us directly from our American friends, is present everywhere on the web and fills the wardrobes of many of us without even knowing it. You know it's also the kind of words that mom and dad use to mean "fasting".
In short, in the end what is a sneakers?
The express definition of sneakers:
Elegant and comfortable, “sneakers” are not sports shoes, at least that is not their primary objective for lack of support and protection against shocks. Sneakers, in general, are actually sneakers, that is to say "non-sports" shoes that we wear on a daily basis. Why ? Because it's fashionable and we feel great in it of course! Basically, a trainer is a shoe for…basketball, well seen. Over time the term was derived to qualify sports shoes. Basket sneakers therefore qualifies city shoes that have a sporty appearance, for everyday use. Haven't we lost you yet? 😂

At SAOLA, we decided to call our sneakers shoes (or basketball sneakers as you see fit) by the names of heavenly destinations, well rather that make us dream especially because paradise does not necessarily rhyme with palm and coconut palm.
As a result, our ecological shoes are not intended for the practice of sport but rather for daily use, going to work, shopping, or just staying relaxed at home. Moreover, with a rather unique style, our mission is not to look like what is done around us and to be as competitive as possible. We only want to design sneakers that are rooted in our values; vegan, responsible, ethical and ecological shoes .
What values for our sneakers?
In our mind, SAOLA is both the design and development of sneakers that respect the environment but also the commitment to improve the production process. We want to drastically reduce the impact, year after year, of the footwear industry. We are proud to make ethical and sustainable shoe models from recycled plastic bottles , seaweed, cork and organic cotton. And we don't use any animal products, we prefer vegan leather 😂 .
